Libby is a 42 year old who works part time as a sales assistant. She spends the rest of her time at home caring for her children. Libby’s husband Jeremy works long hours as an account manager at a law firm. Libby and Jeremy have 2 children, 7 year old Nathan and 15 year old Elise. 

One afternoon after picking up Elise from school, Libby noticed a change in her daughter's attitude towards school. Enthusiasm had been replaced with hostility and anxiety.  After talking to her, Elise revealed that she had been receiving harassing message on her phone, as well as on her Facebook page. Libby approached her husband about the situation, who suggested they visit a site he had seen an ad for on TV. 

Both parents sat down at the computer and visited Cybersmart.gov.au and went to the parents section.

Unsure of how to start they read the intro, which suggested they try the “understand” section

Libby and Jeremy were unfamiliar with the terms listed to the left. They went to the scenario section and found a specific scenario similar to what their daughter was experiencing. They learnt that this is called cyberbullying

They went to the page about cyberbullying. After reading through all the tips and facts, Libby and Jeremy felt a bit more in control and assured that they could solve this problem. 

Libby wanted to learn more and stay informed so she decided to subscribe to Step In magazine. She had the option of receiving it via email or post. As Libby was not too confident on the computer she rang Cybersmart and placed her order with them. 

The next day at work Jeremy wanted to revisit the page on cyberbullying. Because he knew exactly what he was looking for, he used the quick links navigation to go directly to the page.

After reading the information, he was still unsure about a few things. He navigated to the Live chat feature, where his questions were answered by a trained counselor.
